ENGLISH

Large renewable areas

We do want renewables, but in a rational way. First we must exhaust the possibilities offered by URBAN land (e.g. private and public Local Energy Communities; industrial land). This way, moreover, does not require evacuation lines. Once this route has been exhausted and only then (by the way, there is a study that says that if we put panels on all available roofs, 18,000 MW would be produced, when the objective for 2030 is the production of 6,000 MW, one third). Well, as I said, having exhausted the urban land and the roofs, then we could start to evaluate the possibility of using URBANIZABLE land and finally the NON-URBANIZABLE land. What do we mean by all this? We do not mind using protected land for renewables but first we must exhaust the other possibilities. Why not do it? You do not need to be an engineer to get an idea: it is cheaper to go to the mountain and it requires much less work. Decentralisation is always a lot of work. If we had started doing our homework in 2015, when the GREEN DEAL and the 17 SDGs and the A2030 were signed, it would be a different story.
